One jaw
Also known as lower jaw surgery which improves facial proportions and jaw functions simultaneously. One jaw surgery is recommended for those who have significantly protruding, weak, long, and or asymmetrical lower jaw. A disproportional lower jaw affects the entire facial balance and causes problems when talking or chewing. As the root cause of this problem is by jaw position, therefore, it’s difficult to get improvement only with dental braces treatment. BSSRO (bilateral sagittal split ramus osteotomy) is recommended to certainly improve this condition. In almost all cases, one jaw surgery has to be performed with genioplasty. As one jaw surgery requires hyper-precise pre-surgery preparations, patients should come 1 week before surgery.
Process of one jaw surgery
- Hyper-precise pre-surgery test is performed 1 week before surgery
- Lower jaw is corrected and moved to an ideal position and aligned with the upper jaw
- The newly designed lower jaw is securely and firmly fixed with titanium pins
