Just like people, breasts age as time passes. Going through life events like weight loss, childbirth or breastfeeding can cause sagging regardless of breast size. Sagging and reduced elasticity is natural, but that does not mean breast lift surgery (mastopexy) cannot give you some of your life and confidence back.

Different grades of breast sagginess

During an in-person consultation, our breast specialist diagnoses the degree of breast sagging in order to provide the most suitable surgery method and incision for each case. Various factors such as: skin elasticity, breast volume, and incision location preference are considered for the most ideal result.

• Grade A: mild saggy breasts
  Breast implant augmentation is adequate for those with a subtle degree of sagging breast. Without any breast lift surgery, breast implant augmentation by itself may be able to provide a 1~2cm lifting effect.
• Grade B: moderate saggy breasts
  Breast lift surgery by itself will be adequate to improve this case. Those who wish to increase the breast volume may have breast implant augmentation together with breast lift surgery for a more balanced and fuller shape. However, for those who do not wish to increase their breast volume, it’s possible to improve breast sagginess with only breast lift surgery.
• Grade C: severe saggy breasts
  Breast lift and additional breast augmentation or breast reduction surgery may be required to improve this case. If there is too much breast volume, then breast reduction might be recommended. If there is a lack of breast volume, then breast augmentation might be recommended.

Areola incision method

This method is adequate for mild saggy breasts case who also need to correct nipple position.

Lolipop (areola + vertical) incision method

This method is recommended for moderate to severe saggy breasts or for large breasts cases. It is possible to maintain natural breast size even after breast lift surgery. Nipple position can be corrected through this method.

Anchor (areola + vertical + breast fold) incision method

This method is suitable for large and severe saggy breasts cases. It is possible to lift up to a large amount. Nipple position can be corrected through this method.

Areola + breast fold incision method

This method is recommended for patients who wish to improve saggy breasts with a breast lift and increase breast volume with implants. Not only does this method allows the patient to correct both breast shape and sagginess, but it’s also possible to improve the lack of volume of the upper breast with a breast implant. This surgery plan results in perky and natural-looking breasts.

Process of breast lift surgery with areola + breast fold incision

1. A thin incision is made around the areola and on the breast fold
2. Saggy glandular tissue, soft tissue, etc are removed
3. Excess skin is removed
4. The incision is perfectly sutured
